Unexpected inspiration

I have once visited a restaurant that was decorated in a very modern manner: it seemed spotlessly clean and it had that abundance of space that public places tend to have nowadays. Normally I prefer a more cosy interior, one which creates an atmosphere of privacy or even intimacy. It makes me feel like I can hide from other guests and stop worrying about them looking at me. This place was brightly lit, had spotless white walls and beige leather couches and armchairs. There was definitely no place for me to hide. Nevertheless, I really liked that particular restaurant and it was because of its colourful worktops. It seemed as though they come in all the colours of the rainbow: they were red, blue, green, pink, purple and orange. A true spectrum of shades. What is more, they were shiny and spotless just like the rest of the place. I wondered what building stone they used to make such furnishings. And so after I came home I went online and found out that it was most likely low cost composite. It is a man made material that is popular with restaurant and pub owners because it is very durable and it offers a very modern look. After visiting that restaurant I started to consider redecorating my kitchen and installing my own low cost composite worktops.
