Granite happens to be quite the stone when it comes to household furnishings. Be it your kitchen, your mini bar, lawn or the verandah, granite can most definitely steal the show with its signature shimmer and smooth sheen. But then, despite its exquisite appearance and long lasting nature, granite stone can spoil the look if it does not fit in with the environment, which calls for a bit of judgment and comparison with the colors and contrasts of the surroundings. Though mandatory, color contrasts and settings do not require the services of a specialist, and can be thought over by anyone with a basic knowledge of how colors and contours work within a home. Since there are a few varieties of granite colors that are available, choosing the one that will gel with the surroundings of your home is going to be relatively easy and fun as well, considering the fact that you get to play the posh interior designer and show off as well, albeit without the fees!

The most basic of granite colors include dark green and beige which have glossy surfaces that will gleam at the touch of a scrub. While white marble remains to be one of the options, it cannot be considered for kitchen tops as it can make even the tiniest of grubs look like horrendous grime. Black granite colors would in fact, work wonders for kitchen worktops whereas white would do well as the mantelpieces for fire places, showcases and bookshelves alike. For the exteriors, such as the lawn or the porch, light granite colors would do well by lighting up the way and glowing in the moonlight after dark. This would make your lawn more picturesque and inviting as well, making the cool granite marbles an ideal place to lie on and ponder on the vicissitudes of life!
